I am starting my lab at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in the School of Biological Sciences and am recruiting an M.S. student for Fall 2026. We are looking for a bright, motivated student interested in how plant functional traits mediate responses of grassland communities to anthropogenic drivers of change. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please have them contact me. More details about the position will be posted here as they become available.
In addition, I am always interested in hearing from motivated students who are excited about forest ecology, grassland ecology, global change ecology (particularly in plant invasions), and plant community assembly. If you have your own ideas for projects or if you are considering applying for external fellowships or other funding opportunities, I encourage you to reach out to discuss potential directions. You can find detailed information on available funding opportunities at SIU here.
Students should contact me before submitting a formal application to SIU.
Please, contact me for any further information on my research, teaching and/or outreach.
